-4/26/2026: was recommended this by someone who works in sullivan as “better than any ice cream in st. louis” and it was literally just Hershey’s. Which is good, but. also sold in st. louis. I pictured an old timer setup, maybe a long time family-owned joint, but I was wrong. chock full of ai generated menus. at least they invented a new type of ice cream: graham central station (graham cracker flavored ice cream with graham chunks and chocolate covered honeycomb bits??)

-4/11/2026: got a strawberry milkshake here with elliott after backpacking. The teens working there were a reminder of why ice cream shops are so holy, they were all pissed off at each other and slopping custard into cones and no option to tip, elliott noticed. it was the perfect primer for a subpar all you can eat chinese buffet that we hit right after. Frog legs.
-2025: Was thrilled that they had chocolate covered bananas, a clear winner in my book. Only funnier thing on the menu was a block of ice cream on a stick. Peanuts or sprinkles?

-2025: writing this nearly a year later but the name is awesome and the menu was so extensive it made me giddy. who the hell knows what I got (something named after a person, because that’s funny?). I’ll be back.

Jolly Cone on the Current; Van Buren, MO
-2025: Hit this place on a drive to field work with my boss and I think this marked a turning point for understanding how stupid my last workplace’s dynamics and expectations were. Seriously need to get back here, its timelessness helps you forget that you’re adrift on roads with lifted trucks that want you dead. Probably got a chocolate raspberry concrete style thing but it don’t matter
